Meet Ion the 4.5 month old Old English Sheepdog
“Our story is about 21 years long!
I was extremely dog phobic after being trampled by two dogs as a toddler. My parents worked diligently on having me overcome my fear through exposure, but it never totally went away.
I was 12 when my mom saw a 10 year old Old English Sheepdog rescue advertised in the paper. I knew my mom had one growing up, and I had heard tales of how sweet he was. So, I felt somewhat comfortable and agreed to go meet her.
We welcomed Rubis into our home, and she was incredible. As she healed from her abuse, she healed me of my fear. When she passed I promised myself that one day, I’d get another Old English Sheepdog.
I waited 19 years after Rubis’ passing before I felt able to commit to the responsibility of a puppy. I researched breeders, and I found the perfect one. I was on her wait list for 2 years.
While in India for work, I got the email that my puppy had been born. He was one of 3 brothers and 9 sisters. I fell in love with his pictures.
When I went to make my selection, I picked him up last, wanting to make sure I didn’t pass up the perfect puppy. The second I picked him up, he looked into my eyes, licked my face and fell asleep.
I’d been waiting for him, and he’d been waiting for me.
I just love everything about him, but his butt wiggle is THE best!” - Jessi
If you were going to interview your pet what question would you ask?
Ion - why you gotta be so cute?
Was there something you were worried about that your pet would do or not do before your photography session?
That he would lay down and get dirty, which he did almost immediately😂. He’s pretty lazy.
Why did you decide on professional Pet Photography?
“ I wanted someone to capture his personality! Also, when I take pictures of him, he just wants to snuggle and put his nose all over the lens!” - Jessi 🤷🏻♀️
